Overview

This quirky idea came about after watching designers in my family handle colorizing and color palettes. Parodying the act of organizing colors, I wanted to secretly improve my ability to compare hues and tones of color. In Color Boss, players are tasked to organize shapes into a gradient based on the taped corner shapes. The app was built while in collaboration with Pocketo Games. Originally developed for iOS.

Approach

I started with prototyping game mechanics understanding how touch controls would impact sorting colors. Once the mechanics were approved by the team, I handled the art direction and game progression. Players play through each stage themed after a trope, with a set of colors, climbing their way to the top to become the next Color Boss.
